Friends never let go each other. Friends fight a lot yet these fights never take away the bond and the love they share. Friendship is a forever responsibility. Misunderstandings and conflicts arise but with a heart to heart talk these misunderstandings and conflicts vanish in a second.

This friendships day dive into the good old days spent with your childhood friends. A billion of memories made in school with your dear high school and higher secondary school buddies. Let them know that you still miss them even after making a dozen of friends in college and at work place none can replace them.

This Sunday keep your ego and all your differences aside,  your fights aside,  your unsaid fights aside to celebrate this friendship day with your friends who may not be together geographically but are always connected with each other through social media or phone calls even when we get busy in our life still take out some time to call your friends and check up on them as all friends are important with whom you talk daily or not they are with you forever. The first Bollywood movie on the friendship which comes to anyone’s mind is none other than Dil Chahta Hai or What The Heart Wants.Dil Chahta Hai is not a movie but is an emotion for everyone born in the year between 90s to 2000. Every time when you watch this movie you are bound to miss your college friends even when you had a rough patch with your college friends this movie defines the importance of every friendship. The movie has a special connection for the makers and for the audience or viewers. This movie will always top our list when it comes to friends. The movie was the debut movie of Farhan Akhtar as a director and a writer. The national award-winning movie which stole the hearts of many was released in 2001. The movie was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. The story of the movie is quite interesting to watch with your friends. The movie set in Mumbai and Sydney revolves around the lives of three college best friends and how because of some incidents their friendship takes a new turn but eventually these college besties are reunited once again. The three best friends Akash , Sameer and Sid go on to a trip to Goa after graduating. After coming back from Goa Sid bonds over with an older woman Tara a painter by profession. Tara is a divorce. While talking with  his friends Sid confesses his love for Tara  and out of anger Sid slaps Akash creating a rift between the two friends. Eventually things get better as these three friends are reunited just minutes before Tara’s death as Akash drops by to reconcile with Sid and Sameer. In the end these three friends again return to Goa for a trip this time they are accompanied by Shalini and Pooja.. Shalini is a girl whom Akash  met in plane on his flight to Sydney, Australia and while exploring the place together Akash falls for her. Pooja  a family friend's daughter. The movie has a mesmerizing music by Shankar- Ehsaan- Loy especially the title track is an evergreen song to listen on road trips with your friends. The star cast has an interesting story. The original cast was Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna out of which Hrithik and Abhishek were unavailable that’s why Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan were taken to make this movie. The other caste includes Tara played by Dimple Kapadia, Shalini played by Preity Zinta, Pooja played by Sonali Kulkarni , Ayub Khan as Rohit with whom Shalini’s marriage was fixed. Suhasini Mulay as Sid’s mother, Ahmad Khan as Akash’s father, Rakesh Pandey as Rohit’s father. The movie is a must watch this friendships day forget all your rifts and dive into the magic of friends. The movie is a must watch for it gives a new life into your life as far as friendship is concerned.

JAANE TU YA JANA NA

                                                                    Another pick in my list is Jaane Tu Ya Jana Na ( Whether you know or not) is a movie to watch this friendships day with your friends. The movie was released in the year 2008. The movie tells us the story of two college best friends and how they eventually fall in love. The two friends Jai and Aditi seem to be best friends but are actually are fond of each other as they are perfect for each other which everyone knows except for both of them. Both are opposite in nature and in their choice in seeking life partner. Jai wants a sweet girl as a life partner while Aditi wishes to marry a macho man.  After their college ends both try to find a perfect life partner as Jai falls in love with Meghna a girl whom he saved from the misbehavior of two boys in a club. Meghna likes Jai for his cleverness .  Aditi who believes that his father’s friends son Sushant will be a good match for her unfortunately Sushant too is a spoiltbrat. After failing in her love life Aditi decides to go to New York for her further studies but is stopped as Jai reaches the airport and the two best friends confess their love for each other as Jai signs the song which was meant to be sung for the girl whom he will love forever. The movie is an emotional movie which stars the bond of two friends to lovers which they always were. The movie has everything in it from friendship to love. The movie narrates the love story of Jai and Aditi by their other college friends. The debut movie of Jai played by Imran Khan is still one of our favourites when it comes to friends and the transformation which an individual goes through from friends to much more than friends. Aditi aka Meow is played by Genelia D Souza . The movie was a hit at the box office. It is still a must watch even after years its magic can be felt when you rewatch it. The soulful music track is by A.R.Rehman. Pappu Can’t Dance and it’s title track was much popular and is still popular.

Another movie in my list is Rock ON. The movie which was released in the year 2008. It is another movie to watch with your friends this Sunday. The movie is based on four friends whose profession is music. The movie starts in Mumbai with the rock band Magik  in which  Joe is the lead guitarist ,Aditya is the singer, Rob plays keyboard, and KD comprise as the members of the brand. After a competition is announced by Channel V which they win but have to undergo a series of sacrifices as they sign the contract leaving the band and its members estranged. After a decade Aditya’s wife Sakshi tries to reconcile the band and its members by inviting KD for Aditya’s birthday party. KD meets Rob and invites Joe who feels to reconcile with his friends but is stopped by Debbie . Sakshi is scolded by Aditya for digging his past. Sakshi leaves him and Devika makes Aditya understand to face his past . Aditya meets his friends and they practice regularly at Aditya’s house. Channel V announces another contest in which the band enters upon Rob’s insistence. Debbie arranged a guitar-playing job for Joe on a cruise-line, expected to set sail on the same day as the contest. The contest is aired on the radio, and while Joe is on his way to the airport, he hears Magik perform the song he wrote for Debbie 10 years ago, and his band dedicates the song to him which  prompts him to join the competition in which  he and Aditya sing a duet together  in another song. At the end it is   revealed that Rob died two months after that performance which was his last wish to perform with his band. Sakshi gives birth to a baby boy, whom they name "Rob" in memory of their friend setting an example of never ending friendship. True Friendship stays even after death as friendship is a forever thing .The story of the movie revolves around the friendship and the reconcilement of the four friends after a big misunderstanding sweeps out their friendship. The movie gives a message on how to build friendships. The movie portrays  the underlying dangers that the small misunderstandings have and how these misunderstandings if not cleared can create a havoc and ruin the friendship forever. The movie was a turning point for the makers as it went on to win seven Filmfare Awards..The movie leaves a deep impact on us that how we too can reignite our broken friendship by forgetting all our woes behind to achieve our dreams. This friendship day forget all your rifts , trifles to embark a new journey in your friendship ,with friends whom you have had differences.  The star cast includes Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai,Kenny, Purab Kohli,Shahana Goswami,Nicolette, Koel Purie in lead roles. The original score and songs were composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy while the  lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. The movies’s sequel too enjoyed positive reviews in November 2016 upon its release.

3 IDIOTS

                                                                    Another movie which is in my list is a movie which we cannot miss to include in our list doing so will be injustice to friendship. 3 Idiots is a movie which was released in the year 2009. The movie is the story of three friends Ranchoddas Chanchad , Farhan Querishi and Raju Rastogi. The movie was directed by Rajkumar Hirani and was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The movie is an interesting journey of three friends from an engineering college to doing what they really wanted to do in life. The movie is a example for to know what a real friendship is , these three friends come from different financial background and how they never let these differences kick in. The movie portrays the responsibilities of a friend as it showcases the advices given by friends , sacrifices made by friends,how friends can read your inner feelings and understand you without you telling them anything. The movie is an eye opener for you to realize your true friends at the time of adversity. All these three friends are reunited again at the end in Ladakh where their friendship is reconciled . The movie is a must watch if you want to know what does true friendship means. There are some scenes where the importance of true friends is depicted wonderfully especially the scenes where Raju is in hospital where his friends Rancho and Farhan try to cheer him up, how Rancho helps Raju’s family in admitting Raju’s father in the hospital. The movie teaches us that how our friends influence us in a number of ways which is seen in the scene where Rancho makes his friends promise that Farhan will tell his father about his love for photography and he doesn’t wants to persue engineering and Raju will stop wearing rings in fingers if he confesses his feelings for Pia . The movie tells us that our true friends will never leave us they will be with us forever. The movie reflects the family that we have away from family in hostel and the importance of our roommates in our life. The star cast includes Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sharman Joshi, Ali Fazal, Boman Irani, Parikshit Sahni, Omi Vaidya, Rahul Kumar, Mona Singh,Javed Jaffrey . The film's soundtrack is composed by  Shantanu Moitra  and lyrics are penned by  Swanand Kirkire.

ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA

                                     

Another important pick in my list is not a movie but an emotion. Yes we are talking about the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara or in English You Don’t Live Twice. The life changing movie was released in the year 2011. The movie was directed by Zoya Akhtar and was another production by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The movie is on three friends who reunite after years to go on to a trip which they had planned in their school days as they choose sport they set off to leave all their fears and how the trip to Spain changes their life for better giving a different perspective to each one of their life. The movie is all about friendship and the importance of your childhood friends which have seen you evolve. The movie which is set in Spain tells us the story of three best friends as to they explore the city together each day brings a new spark in them as they leave their deepest fears behind. The three best friends Arjun who is into finance , Kabir who is into his family’s business of construction and Imran who is a writer . The movie is a must watch to watch with your friends and how your friends shape your life. The movie is much about travelling going places on a road trip with your friends. The movie is also about strengthening the bond even after being busy. All get busy still they stay in touch. The importance of friends in one’s life. The Three Musketters and how these three friends change each others life by choosing the sport which is the biggest fear of their friends. The movie also portrays the importance of friends when going through a rough patch in your relationship as how Kabir’s life changes after Natasha enters his life & how a misunderstanding makes Natasha and Kabir engaged where Kabir doesn’t wants to marry Natasha. Kabir had brought a ring for his mother’s birthday which he showed to Natasha who thought that Kabir is proposing her . Arjun’s life and his perspective towards life changes as he meets Laila the deep sea diver instructor and lastly that how Imran tells his friends the real reason behind this trip as he tells them that his father was his step father now dead cared for him and his mother when his   biological father abandoned him and his mother Salman Habib who is a painter as he met him he understood him better. The movie is a must watch from friendship to love to relationships it is a new window to understand life the importance of people who really matter your family and friends. The movie is a must watch with your school friends to revive your friendship with them. The movie star cast includes Hrithik Roshan as workaholic Arjun, Abhay Deol as Kabir, Farhan Akhtar as Imran, Kalki Koechlin as Natasha, Katrina Kaif as Laila, Nasiruddin Shah as Salman Habib. All the poems of Imran were penned by Javed Akhtar. The movie has a soulful music to play on a road trip . The music was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. An award winning movie revolving on the importance of every relation especially friendship is a must watch.

COCKTAIL

Another pick in my list is Cocktail directed by Homi Adajania in 2012. The movie is based on the  friendship between Meera and Veronica when Veronica is there for Meera when she is going through a rough patch with her husband who wants that Meera should stay away from him as he only married her for money leaving Meera shattered who is helped by Veronica an extrovert by nature while Meera is a shy type. Veronica takes Meera to her apartment in London and allows her to stay wih her. Veronica takes Meera to a night club  where they met Gautam whom Meera doesn’t like but Gautam is really attracted to her as she perfects his mother’s choice of a Indian Girl when Kapoor visits him to save from his mother’s chidings about settling up Gautam tells that he likes Meera. The love triangle between the three friends creates a rift and they part ways after a heated argument. Veronica loves Gautam and Gautam loves Meera . After they part ways Meera goes to India and Veronica meets with an accident helped by Gautam. Veronica realizes that Gautam has changed to a serious kind of guy and though she likes him yet he likes Meera . The two  Gautam and Veronica come to India where they meet Meera where these three friends are reunited as Gautam proposes Meera and Meera and Veronica become best friends again. The movie was a hit at the box office . The star cast includes Deepika Padukone as Veronica, Debut actress Diana Penty as Meera and Saif Ali Khan as Gautam with Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani in supporting roles as the  maternal uncle (Randhir) and mother of Gautam , Randeep Hooda as  Kunal Meera’s husband. The movie is a must watch to know the importance of the bond which we share with our friends and how should we handle friendships when they are about to break. Friendship never dies. Best friends cannot live without each other there may be fights, arguments but eventually it gets better and friends are reunited. The movie throws light upon relationships and how they can break the friendships if not handled well. Friendship is being there through thick and thin always staying together.

YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI

                                      
Another pick in my list is Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani English translation The Youth Is Crazy directed by Ayan Mukerji in 2013. The story was written by Ayan and Hussain Dalal, and produced by Karan Johar. The story is about four classmates who met again on going to a hiking trip in Manali. Naina an introvert by nature is a nerdy medical student who always tops the class . Avinash, Bunny, and Aditi rekindle their friendship as Naina meets them on their trip to Manali. The trip changes them as they want to be serious as Avinash sees a letter in Bunny’s bag Bunny leaves for his work. The trip changes Naina who is taught to play ,live life by Bunny. After a gap of eight years they all met again. This time for Aditi’s wedding where Bunny and Naina’s love blooms. Aditi who once loved and had unsaid feelings for  Avinash but is now getting married to Taran whom she loves. The movie is a must watch when it comes to friendship particularly school friends and their undying importance in our life. The trips with friends are memorable for life. The importance of memories, friendship, relationships is totally vested in this movie which always embarks a new spirit in our life as far as friendship is concerned. True friends never let you feel alone. They are always standing by you as a pillar to support you in tough times. The movie star cast includes Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Evelyn Sharma. It is a must watch to rebuild friendships to reconnect with your school friends. School friends never change.

KAI PO CHE

                                                            

Another pick in my list is a movie based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel The 3 Mistakes Of My Life. Kai Po Che ! The kite has been cut also known as Brothers Fr Life. The movie based on friendship was released in 2013 and directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The movie is set in Gujarat particularly in Ahmedabad. The story tells us of three friends Ishaan, Omi and Govind Patel who want to start their own sports academy. The film also revolves around the Bhuj Earthquake of 2001 and Godhra Train Burning . The film tracks their deep friendship, and innocence tarnished by religious politics and communal hatred. The movie challenges their friendship in a world where hatred is everywhere.The film begins with Govind  giving a presentation in a school about the services provided by his sports club. In a parallel scene, Omi is released from prison. As they  halt at a restaurant mid-way, Govind and Omi recall their days back to the year 2000 with the life of their late friend Ishaan who died in the communal hatred as he was shot down by Omi in an attempt to save his student Ali Hashmi’s life. The movie is a must watch when it comes to friendships . The movie was a succees at the box office.The star cast includes Sushant Singh, Rajkumar Rao, Amit, Amrita Puri in lead roles.

YAARIYAN

Another pick in my list is Yaariyan directed by Divya Khosla in 2014. The movie is a story of five close friends studying in college and how they are able to save their college land which has been bought by Australian businessman but will grant lease if the college wins in five competition challenge. For this competition these five friends are sent to Australia for first three rounds. The movie is based on friendship , love and affection among friends. The importance of college friends where one experiences the best moments and learns things differently . The star cast includes Himansh Kohli, Rakul Preet Singh , Nicola Faria, Honey Singh, Gulshan Grover,Vikas Verma, Evelyn , Saiyal. The movie was produced by Bhushhan Kumar.

VEERE DI WEDDING

                                      

Another pick in my list is a movie which is oriented to female friendship for the first time ever in our Bollywood. This was for the first time that all females were working together in a lead roles proving that females too can have long lasting friendship with their Veeres . The movie was directed by Shashanka Ghosh and was produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil. The story is the story of four high school friends and how they are struggling in their respective lives through adulthood. The story is on  Kalindi’s wedding and how her friends help her to cheer her up and how they make her understand that she is at fault . The movie has arguments ,fights in it yet the four friends are friends forever after going through a lot their friendship stands firmly. The star cast includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shikha, Swara Bhaskar and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. Kalindi, Sakshi, Avni and Meera are the four friends who rekindle their friendship at their Veere’s (Kalindi) wedding. The movie is an interesting watch to watch with your girlfriends this Sunday celebrate the female friendship.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY

                                 

Another pick in our list is a movie which celebrates friendship from starting till the end. The movie Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety directed by Luv Ranjan in 2018. The movie revolves around two best friends Sonu and Titu and how Titu always choses his best friend Sonu. The movie starts with Sonu asking Titu to choose either him or Pihu , Sonu chooses his best friend. After this Sonu’s family wants Sonu to meet Sweety who seems to be an ideal life partner but Titu finds out that sweety is a dominating, possessive , and clever. Sonu and Sweety like each other but Titu warns his best friend in the end Titu again chooses his best friend over Sweety. The movie revolves around the friendship of two best friends from school. The movie received mixed reactions for its plot still it is in our list as we cannot ignore the friendship bond depicted in the movie. The star cast includes Kartik Aaryan as Sonu, Sunny Singh as Titu, Nushrat Bharucha as Sweety, Ishita as Pihu, Alok Nath  ,Virender Saxena.
